7 Days Before

Review your evacuation zone and local emergency management website.Refill prescriptions and gather medical supplies.Buy water, shelf-stable food, batteries, and sanitation supplies.Photograph important documents and insurance information.Check shutters, roof drainage, trees, and loose outdoor items.

72 Hours Before

Fuel vehicles and test flashlights, radios, and power banks.Freeze water containers to help keep food cold if power fails.Confirm family communication and meetup plans.Prepare pet carriers, food, medication, and records.Follow official watches, warnings, and evacuation instructions.

24 Hours Before

Bring outdoor furniture, grills, tools, and bins inside.Charge phones, power stations, radios, and backup batteries.Move valuables away from flood-prone areas.Set refrigerators and freezers to their coldest safe setting.Leave immediately if ordered to evacuate.

During The Storm

Stay indoors and away from windows and glass doors.Use official alerts and NOAA weather radio for updates.Do not go outside during the eye of the storm.Avoid candles when possible; use battery lighting.Keep generators outside and far from doors, windows, and vents.

After The Storm

Wait for official all-clear before returning or going outside.Avoid floodwater, downed power lines, and unstable structures.Photograph damage before cleanup when safe.Discard unsafe food and follow boil-water notices.Check on neighbors only when travel is safe.
