During The Storm

Stay indoors and away from windows and glass doors.Use official alerts and NOAA weather radio for updates.Do not go outside during the eye of the storm.Avoid candles when possible; use battery lighting.Keep generators outside and far from doors, windows, and vents.

After The Storm

Wait for official all-clear before returning or going outside.Avoid floodwater, downed power lines, and unstable structures.Photograph damage before cleanup when safe.Discard unsafe food and follow boil-water notices.Check on neighbors only when travel is safe.
