Privacy Policy
How Hurricane Prep Guide collects and uses data.
Hurricane Prep Guide is an independent informational resource. This policy describes how we use information from site visits and voluntary email signups.
If you accept optional analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand page views, traffic sources, browser and device information, and interactions such as affiliate link clicks, sharing, and successful email signups. We do not send signup email addresses or email contents as analytics event data.
Your cookie choice
Optional analytics is off until you select Accept analytics. Reject analytics keeps it off. You can use the checklist, save your preparation progress, and browse Amazon links with either choice.
We remember your choice in this browser for up to 180 days. Essential browser storage also keeps your checklist and shopping-planner progress. If your browser blocks storage, we cannot remember your cookie choice and optional analytics remains off.
You can change your choice using Cookie settings in the footer or the button below. Rejecting analytics after accepting stops site analytics and clears the Google Analytics cookies that this site can access. Google display ads are currently disabled.
When enabled, Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to measure site activity. You can also manage or delete cookies in your browser and use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on in supported browsers. Google explains its data practices in its Privacy Policy.
When you request a storm prep plan by email, we collect your email address and use Resend to store it and send the one plan you requested. Email is optional. Requesting the plan does not sign you up for ongoing updates. This guide is an independent informational resource, not an emergency alert service.
Display advertising
Google display ads are currently off. If we enable advertising, Google and its advertising partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons, and receive information such as IP addresses and browser activity to deliver and measure ads. Depending on your choices, ads may be personalized. Advertising privacy choices will be provided separately from our optional analytics choice before advertising is activated.
Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services and manage Google ad personalization through My Ad Center. Browser settings can also control cookies. Our Accept analytics button does not grant consent for display advertising.
